Beautiful Bajoran Earrings

The mass media   lockets for women
Is often the origin of jewelry styles and the TV show, Star Trek might have
sparked a particular earring trend.  The Bajorans of"Star Trek: Deep Space
Nine" can be differentiated by a row of wrinkles throughout the bridge of the nose.   Some of these are worn in one ear (usually the correct ear) and
consist of a stud, clip or dangle earring with a chain connected to an ear cuff that's clipped on the middle or
upper part of the ear.   The chain could be attached to a stud, clip or the lower portion of
a dangle earring which is worn on the earlobe, and there might be two chains.
These rings are worn by both men and female Bajorans.  The STARFLEET,
International Star Trek Fan Association Academy Manual, states that Bajoran
rings are called"d'ja pagh" in Bajoran language and are worn as a
traditional emblem of their faith, related
to their belief from the life force that they predict"Pagh".  Further
details say that the earrings might be decorated with diamonds and the earrings are
personalized with family details about the cuff.  Similar earrings
Are also sometimes referred to as"slave earrings", a name that may
be considered inappropriate.  Vogue Italia caused some controversy in 2011 over
an article that promoted"servant" fashion hoop earrings.  The
famous fashion magazine afterwards removed the feature as a result of negative responses.  On the other hand, the earrings featured
in Vogue were large hoops and not the design shown from the Bajoran of Star Trek.
Vogue Italia later changed the term to"cultural" and then eliminated the
article.  Some argue that
The word"servant rings" refers to the chain that links the ear cuff
to the hearing, instead of the people who began wearing the jewelry.
 Thus, braceletsjoined by chains to
rings have been called"slave bracelets" and anklets combined to toe rings are sometimes known as"servant anklets".  Maybe the term"servant" is much more apt for
BDSM jewellery.  A fast online search for"servant rings" shows images of the Vogue hoops and the Bajoran-style earrings.  In reality,
many retailers consult with this Bajoran-style rings as"servant earrings".  These may be descriptively and politically correctly known as"ear stud
with string and clip-on cuff",
or a shorter, catchier name, for example as"cuff and chain rings".  But
where does this trend come from?  Throughout the punk
 Yet, people have worn earrings
with chains and ear cuffs since prior to the punk scene.  Indian ladies wore nose rings with chains which attach to hair
decorations or rings with chains for decades before the emergence of punk fashion and jewelry.  Indian bridal jewellery consists of many pieces, including heavy earrings.  For quite a very long time before the screening of Star
Trek, similar jewellery was worn by Indian ladies.  Traditional Indian rings with chains tend to have a series that attaches to some hair ornament or a part
that slides across the surface of the ear, to help bear the weight of thick dangle
earrings.  Modern punk
Style or Bajoran earrings can be simple, with a small silver chain, a plain stud and an
unembellished cuff.  These look great with casual clothing and are suitable for
everyday wear.  Other Bajoran style earrings can be extremely intricate and
embellished with diamonds, making them appropriate for day weddings or wear.  Cuff and string rings are best worn on one ear only,
though they may be worn as a set with
a simpler earring on one side without a chain or cuff (see image, above).  The
set of earrings may also be worn out on a single ear with numerous piercings.  They look
best with all the hair consumed, and away in the ear.  Short hairstyles also match cuff and chain earrings.  Alternately, those with long hair wear may their
own hair tucked behind the ear to the side that sports the cuff and chain earring.  Even though
Bajoran-style earrings became popular after Star Trek, it is not essential to
be a Trekkie or Trekker to put on themaccompany them with a Vulcan salute.
This really is a trend that may be appreciated by everybody as an alternative to
traditional ear jewelry.
  Like Art Nouveau, it
preferred progression and modernity.  In fact, it was known as Style
Moderne.  But, where Art Nouveau utilized flowing curves and vibrant colors, Art Deco attracted vertical lines, symmetry
and bolder, contrasting colors.  The Art Deco design embraced technology and
often incorporated geometric contours.
However, the word"Art Deco" was not utilized to refer to this design until the 1960s, once the architect Le Corbusier composed of
the Paris Exposition.

Like many other
Artistic movements such as Art Nouveau, Art Deco spread throughout the entire world and became evident not just in fine art but also in architecture.   Art Deco also influenced interior design,
functional everyday objects and, of course, jewelry.

Popular
Materials for Art Deco jewelry were white gold and
platinum, and white diamonds compared with brightly colored diamonds like jade, emeralds, rubies,
red coral, turquoise and  personalized lockets
sapphires.  Black and white was also a feature combination, and black onyx was frequently used paired with white
diamond or quartz.  Where sophisticated shapes were created by enameling from Art
Nouveau jewelry, specialist gem cutting and preferences, like the invisible setting Landmarks
in history, like the discovery of the tomb of the Egyptianboy-king, Tutankhamun in 1922 had an
influence on the art of the time, including Art Deco jewellery, and Egyptian
types have been incorporated into jewelry designs, causing an Egyptian revival.
World trade in exotic regions caused foreign notions to be imported into Art
Deco designs, such as Chinese, Japanese,
African, Middle Eastern and Indian motifs.  These aspects made to get an
intriguing mix of ancient and modern.  Art Nouveau was also affected by modern
art movements such as Cubism.

Some jewelry
Designers are regarded to have produced their greatest inventions during the
Art Deco period.  One of the most prominent of the innovative artists were Van
Cleef and Arpels.  Van Cleef and Arpels produced some fabulous Egyptian-inspired
items such as legendary bracelets and
brooches that show historical Egyptian landscapes and motifs in sapphire, ruby, onyx, emerald, and diamond.  Van Cleef and Arpels also established the sautoir, a long tasseled necklace which complimented the flapper
gowns of the day.  In 1933, Van Cleef and Arpels improved an innovative
invisible setting called"Mystery Set", which allows gemstones to be inserted into miniature gold
railings, leading to a continuous covering of gemstones without a visible prongs.

World famous
French jewelry designer, Cartier, has been affected by India during the Art Deco
period.  Jacques Cartier visited India after
taking the helm of the London branch of Cartier.  This resulted in some intriguing jewelry pieces, such as Cartier's use of carved
gemstones and colorful
combinations of sapphires, rubies and emeralds which were afterwards known as"Tutti Frutti".  One of the most outstanding pieces of the vibrant collection was an Indian fashion necklace,
known as the Collier Hindu, made for French style celebrity, Mrs Daisy
Fellowes.    This really is the most a Cartier"Tutti Frutti" necklace has ever been sold for.  Art Deco jewelry represented glamour, opulence and

Elegance, which fitted in with the social climate of the roaring 20s and
Spirit of the Jazz Age.  During this time, women experienced great societal
change.
And pleasure than her predecessors.  This, along with improved consumer spending
Power led to some of the most lavish pieces of jewelry designed, which
Continue to be admired to this daywikipedia
